Chinese Medicine Tongue Diagonsis

What does your tongue say about your health?
In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM),
your tongue reflects your inner state.
There are 9 constitution types,
each with its own tongue features and health tendencies.
1️⃣ Normal(平和質)
Tongue: Light red with thin white coating
Healthy, well-balanced body and mind
舌淡紅,苔薄白
體質均衡,精神充沛,免疫力強
2️⃣ Qi-deficiency(氣虛質)
Tongue: Pale, swollen, with teeth marks; thin or no coating
Easily tired, weak immunity
舌色淡紅,舌體胖大,邊有齒痕
容易疲倦、氣短、免疫力差
3️⃣ Yang-deficiency(陽虛質)
Tongue: Pale, moist, swollen with white coating and teeth marks
Feels cold, low energy, prefers warmth
舌色淡,舌體胖大,苔白潤,邊有齒痕
怕冷、手腳冰冷、精神不振
4️⃣ Yin-deficiency(陰虛質)
Tongue: Red, dry, with little or no coating
Hot hands and feet, dry mouth and eyes
舌紅,少苔,少津
手足心熱,口乾眼乾,易失眠
5️⃣ Phlegm-damp(痰濕質)
Tongue: Enlarged, with thick or greasy white coating
Heavy body, bloating, sluggish digestion, oily skin
舌體胖大,苔白膩
身體沉重、易水腫、痰多、皮膚油膩
6️⃣ Damp-heat(濕熱質)
Tongue: Red body with yellow greasy coating
Oily skin, acne, bitter mouth, sticky stools
舌質偏紅,苔黃膩
面油多、易長痘、口苦、大便黏滯
7️⃣ Blood-stasis(血瘀質)
Tongue: Purple or dark tongue, may have spots or patches; thick veins underneath
Dark lips or skin, prone to pain or bruising
舌質紫黯,見瘀點瘀斑,舌下靜脈曲張
唇色黯、膚色暗沉、易瘀青疼痛
8️⃣ Qi-stagnation(氣鬱質)
Tongue: Light red or dark tongue with thin white or slightly greasy coating
Easily stressed, emotional, chest tightness
舌淡紅或偏暗,苔薄白或偏乾
情緒易波動,煩悶,胸悶不適
9️⃣ Special/Allergic(特稟質)
Tongue: Variable; may have cracks or peeling
Sensitive to allergens, prone to asthma or rashes
舌象多變,可見裂紋或花剝苔
對環境過敏,易氣喘或皮膚敏感
